new constantinople manuscript found

Manuscript of Great Historic Importance Found in Istanbul

An important manuscript was discovered in Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Topkapi was the residence of the Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. The manuscript found is of significant meaning, because it consists of information regarding the years before the Fall of Constantinople in 1453, but it also describes the early years after Constantinople was turned into Istanbul and became capital of Turkey.
The document belongs to Michael Critovoulos, a Greek politician, scholar and historian, who lived between 1410 and 1470. His birth-name was Kritopoulos, but he changed it to sound more ancient Greek-like.
He experienced the Siege and Fall of Constantinople and wrote about Mehmed II the Conqueror.
The discovery sheds light on issues, such as taxation during the Fall, relationships between Greeks and Ottomans, the contention between Venetians and Genoese.
Critovoulos refers also to the construction of the Rumeli Hisari fortress, which was the knockout blow for the Byzantine Istanbul. The chronicle of destruction and looting of the city by the Ottomans, in order to make it their capital, is also mentioned.
His book, according to the Turkish website Hubermonitor.com, was printed with the contribution of the Pavlos and Alexandra Kanellopoulos Foundation. This will be a bilingual issue, having the original manuscript and the Turkish translation by Aris Tsokonas on the one page and the colourful photocopy of the text on the other.
The book will be presented at Pera Museum, located in Istanbul, on May 21.

palmer rebuilding titanic

palmer building the titanic again

this is the funniest thing to come out for ages. it makes me want to like a mining tycoon even though i am not very for big billionaires who should be sharing their money around more.

the news before was that palmer was going to get into politics on the same day the new titanic will make its maiden day voyage.
the beauty of the piece was the irony of a miner becoming politician on the same day as the original ship with the same name which sunk on its maiden voyage.

MINING tycoon Clive Palmer said today it was full steam ahead for his plan to build a 21st century version of the Titanic, with 20,000 people expressing interest in the maiden voyage.
There was scepticism when the self-made mining billionaire announced his ambitious plans in April to construct Titanic II with exactly the same dimensions as its ill-fated predecessor, which sank 100 years ago.
But Mr Palmer today said one of the world's leading ship design and marine engineering companies had now been commissioned to assist with the project.
Finnish-based Deltamarin, which has offices worldwide, will undertake a full review to ensure the vessel will be compliant with all current safety and construction regulations.
It will also ensure that the design criteria laid down by Blue Star Line, which Palmer established, are met.
The work carried out by Deltamarin will enable China's CSC Jinling Shipyard to begin construction of the passenger liner, which will be 270 metres long, 53 metres high and weigh 40,000 tonnes.
It will have 840 rooms and nine decks.
Mr Palmer said there had been keen international interest from passengers wanting to be on board the maiden commercial voyage scheduled for 2016 between England and North America.
"More than 20,000 people have registered on Blue Star Line's website expressing an interest in receiving regular updates from us or requesting information on how to secure bookings for Titanic II's maiden voyage," he said.
"Titanic II will be a regular feature on the transatlantic route between the UK and USA," Palmer added.
"This magnificent vessel is being constructed in memory of the heroic people who served on the first ship, as well as the passengers who sadly shared their fate."
Titanic sank on April 15, 1912 after striking an iceberg on its first voyage, from Southampton to New York, killing more than 1500 passengers and crew. The original liner was built in Belfast.

wow martika is out again and i bought a ticket

i am so excited about martika's new song,"flow with the go".
not since prince's most beautiful girl in the world have i seen anything to compare this with.
the song feels and tastes like a hit, whether it gets all the attention and exposure it deserves is a different issue.
but this is what anticipating the latest release of quality music artists was once about and the reason why their was a music market that encouraged artists to frequently release music based on the songwriter and artist creativity factor, like prince, is because it gave him leverage to express his artistic creativity without the pressure of pushing out an overtly obvious hit song on the market every year..so he focused on making good records and this branding that was invested allowed people the opportunity to see him for prince the brand, the concert performer, the entertainer, rather than someone who is known just for individual hit songs.
prince has not got a hit song for ages but is still making millions touring because of this brand he built from focusing on making good records.
because what is the essence of a hit song, but one done out of a true creative  spirit, a true expression of inspiration that would act as an instrument for other people's emotion which allows them to relate to and express themselves and be uplifted to.

i always loved martika's songs, but i also knew she was also an artist who wrote her own songs.
a true music brand is about artists that can narrate a story. which is the reason why cat stevens was successful was because he relayed his music like a story book that people were  stimulated to.

music songwriters articulate an emotion, a vibe,a frequency and they form the ability to capture this and translate it into a rhythm, a song that packages an experience that communicates to people on a deeper level of consciousness.
unfortunately this has been abused in the music industry with the use of occultist and subliminal messaging in music and the basic running of negatively driven music that stimulates the faculty in a person that is associated with aggression and primal behaviour. like many rap artists now in contrast to other rappers that use it as a true voice of creativity, positivity that addresses social issues like black eyed peas song, where is the love.

Music is meant to bring back rhythm in our daily lives, to uplift us from the mundane subordination of everyday living. it is a vehicle and an outlet that binds communities with empathetic feelings that bind us all.

martika's song oozes that creativity, this vibe, this dance factor that i could imagine myself if i ever could get to the gold coast and hit a dancefloor and when the song comes on, everybody screams in excitement and i feel new and young again. this is how the song makes me feel. other than the fact is a very attractive woman.
this song will get martika back onto the concert circuit and she will get more money than she could spend.
i wonder how much money she made from the enimen using her music?

the film clip is cute and catchy and put together with beautiful choreography and oversight.

compared to j lo or mariah, this film clip reminds me of a talent that none of these artists have, which is the  ability to form and express movement and sychronise them to the vibes of an extremely catchy song.
michael jackson once expressed this important connection that bridges video clips, the visual, with the audio. which therefore makes the brand.

it is the same pool of creativity which prince's songs derive from, although i am not too sure lately as his music grows a little tired when he recycles the same funk loops and samples and it is seems like he is improvising straight jazz, rather than soiling some pop songs that are relevant and popular.
but his bad or ok records are still better than most records!!

martika's new song may stay on the fray on the youtube circuit, but it is a glimpse and a great promotion of a star who captivated us with a talent that we have rarely seen since.
i bought a ticket to see martika in sydney and i am like a little kid.
i am a prince fan, but did not see prince when he came here because of the price of the ticket.

this is here song go with the flow enjoy

groom cheated on new wife yahoo news

GROOM CHEATED ON NEW WIFE AT WEDDING RECEPTION

Yahoo!7June 18, 2012, 10:56 am
A jilted bride has finally been granted a divorce from her cheating husband six months after her father caught him in the act with a waitress at their wedding reception.
The unidentified German man apparently couldn't wait to consummate the marriage and instead snuck away with a waitress for a quickie in the kitchen.

He would have gotten away with it if his brand new father-in-law hadn't come in for a quick snack, catching the two in a compromising position.

The father immediately shut down the music and sent his quests home without telling them why.

The furious bride went to a local courthouse the next day to seek a divorce, but was told she needed to wait six months under Austrian law.
The two are now divorced, with the husband forced to pay alimony because he was at fault in their split.
It's not all bad news for the insatiable groom – he can take comfort with his new wife, the waitress.

best place for free wi fi in city sydney

Sydney city. uhhh the city of 1$ coffee 7/11 style, free newspapers in beautiful hotel lobbys such as the art gallery where you can have a free  newspaper with every purchase.
the same goes for wi fi
there are some exciting places around the city if your looking for a reliable and good place for wifi.
just be mindful when you are purchasing on a wifi server as it is unsecure.

the best places for the wi fi are
1 tom and tom cafe on 97 bathurst street. just a little down from the church next to town hall.
2 art gallery of nsw provides free wi fi.

vivid is it worth it?

for something different sake i suppose.
but the content of the visual effects was minimalist and low grade at best.
the concepts were interesting and they did create an event around it by installing different types of visual light affects around town. nice for a romantic night out. but sydney city can do a little better.
perhaps music and lights. make a bit of a disco. not an item where you just peruse with curiosity before your ready to leave. what about a free movie? sure their was merchandising. but what about free calenders from the sydney city council. they are afterall minimising expense by employing a free service eventbrite for their event management. talk about saving on overheads when they are arguably racking in on council rates that even the romans would be up in protest about.
however it is nice to see sydney trying to enrich its cultural city life and this should be done away from the merchandising business model and more in the sense of giving back to the people who put allot of money into the council.

baby hatches in europe and medievalisms

well here is an item that changes our perception of western europe having values that the world could replicate.
baby boxs and the word described in the article,'medieval' sums it up.
pretending to facilitate a need in the community for baby disposal and the safety disposal of baby which is silly.
by installing them around, they legitimize the practice and build an accepted cultural practice around it. The un is addressing this issue.
the countries that do this according to the article are

Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Latvia.
nico
this goes into weird news page

baby hatches had disappeared from Europe in the last century, almost 200 have been installed across the continent in the past decade in nations as diverse as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Latvia.

heinz versus campbells soup

welcome to the blog review
we review everything here and give the insight on what is and what is not.

i noticed something heinz soup is better than campbells, i ain't getting paid to say this and so this is an unusual thang. campbells does not feel like a soup to me, but a stew that you have to add stuff to so that it becomes a soup and so when you add stuff the composition is just not right.
